A Little Silver Sphere
A tiny gleam caught my eye from near the wooden table leg. I stepped forward on quiet feet, pausing every few moments to tilt my head and listen. Resting on the rug was a small, round silver bell, bright and smooth. I reached out carefully, tapping it with the tip of one finger. It gave a faint, musical chime and rolled just an inch. With a soft coo, I leaned down, scooped the cool metal sphere into both hands, and held it close to inspect my blurry reflection.
