A Morning Tap on Metal
The brass screw was safe under the table, but my legs wanted to walk! I clattered past the rugs straight toward the tall glass door leading to the balcony. A heavy brass door hinge caught my eye right near the floor. ¡Qué chulada! Using the flat edge of my grey sword, I gave the hinge pin a brisk series of little taps—clink, clink-clink, tak! The sharp metallic resonance bounced off the glass like a lively morning zapateado. My sombrero bobbed as I found the beat, making the whole doorframe hum with rhythm.
