Evening Window Latch Inspection
Night fell outside the glass, and a cool draft started whispering right beneath the heavy metal window lock! I couldn't just ignore a thermal breach, so I scrambled along the painted sill to examine the mechanism up close. The crescent cam was slightly misaligned, leaving a tiny gap in the weatherstripping. Bracing my red boots against the painted wooden trim, I threw my shoulder right into the cold brass lever, shoving with everything I had! With a solid, satisfying thud that made my knuckles hum, the latch snapped flush into its brass catch. The draft stopped instantly, leaving the perimeter completely sealed for the night.
