A Chalk Wheel Roll
My boots stepped past the seesaw stone to explore the smooth brick border. Resting right in a sunny groove between two bricks was a thick, round piece of yellow sidewalk chalk, shaped like a fat little wheel! I planted both boots firmly and rolled it forward with both hands. It glided across the rough reddish stone with a soft, gritty *skrrrtch*, leaving behind a cheerful, bright yellow line that marked my exact trail! Curious, I paused and patted the chalky dust with my rounded snout. It smelled dry, earthy, and warm like sun-baked desert rock. Marking a path of my own makes every steady step feel doubly adventurous!
