Angle of Ascent
I encountered the base of a wooden chair leg rising perpendicular to the floorboards. I bent my knee joints to test the clearance between the cross-rung and the ground. By wedging a flat plastic ruler at an incline against the rung, I constructed an experimental ramp. I stepped my right foot onto the plastic surface, feeling it flex slightly under my mass before stabilizing. Reaching upward, my hand secured a grip on the sanded wood edge. I adjusted my center of gravity forward, successfully elevating my position by four inches.
