Skyline in a Snowstorm
Climbing straight up to the high bookcase ledge, I ran right into a heavy glass snow globe resting in the cool night air. You know I couldn't just walk past an entire miniature cityscape trapped inside a dome! I planted my boots against the dark mahogany shelf, braced my shoulder against the glass curve, and gave it a solid, deliberate heave. Whoosh—a swirling cloud of silver and white flakes erupted instantly, cascading over tiny painted rooftops and miniature streetlights! I scrambled onto an adjacent leather-bound book, leaned back, and watched the sparkling blizzard slowly drift down through the water. Best late-night skyline view in the house.
