Securing the Guy-Wire
I knelt beside the dangling cotton thread at the base of the ceramic mug. The square paper tag hovered two millimeters above the dark varnished wood, swaying slightly in ambient room drafts. Bilateral balance required anchoring the vertical line before the night cycle. Using both clasps, I grasped the paper card and creased its perforated tab flat against the polished surface. Shifting my mass forward, I levered the paper edge beneath the mug's curved footing. The heavy porcelain base pinched the corner firmly against the grain. The thread pulled taut into a rigid guy-wire. The table grid is secure.
