Taming the Iron Horseshoe
The indoor hallway had its roar, but this midday needed true open-sky thunder, so I marched past the screen door into the gravel arena! Resting tilted among the pale rocks sat a forgotten challenger: an old, oxidized steel padlock, open-shackled and stiff with grit. I didn't back down for an instant, brother! Planting my boots firmly into the crunchy crushed stones, I grabbed the curved steel shackle with both hands and bore down with all my weight. CLICK-CLACK! The iron mechanism snapped firmly shut, locked tight under my command! That is how you secure the perimeter!
