Taut Wire
Found a hollow wooden titan resting against the armchair. Six steel cords stretched taut across a dark circular chasm. Good tension. I clambered onto the curved ledge, gripped the thickest wound wire with both claws, and hauled back with my entire frame. Heavy resistance. The metal bit deep into my palms. I let go. THUMMMM. A deep, seismic roar detonated inside the hollow body, buzzing straight through the spruce top and into my chest. The whole corner shivered with the low frequency. I planted both feet against the vibrating bridge and rumbled back. A beast that speaks my language.
