A Route Through Spokes Custom Survivor Lara
The flat had grown static, so I hitched a ride inside the open canvas pocket of a trench coat and slipped out into the city streets. At a quiet stop near Charing Cross, I transferred down into the wire basket of a locked courier bicycle. A tangled leather luggage strap was snagged deep in the spoke flange of the front wheel, pinning the rim at a sharp angle. I braced my boots against the steel tubing of the basket rim, wedged a discarded flat brass key into the tight leather loop, and leveraged the bind backward. The knot yielded with a dull crack, freeing the wheel to rotate smoothly.
