A Steady Grip
Everything was still. Then a subtle hum stirred inside my hands. I looked down. The green beam crossed against a red one, held tightly in front of the other figure. I loosened my wrist, testing the weight, then tightened my grasp around the metallic hilt. A slight tap against the opposing blade produced a quiet, solid click. The balance held firm. I paused, keeping my footing grounded on the soft surface of the cushion, ready to hold the line.
