A Careful Alignment

I noticed a ripped receipt curled beside a brown paper coaster. Before touching them, I stood still and observed the tiny jagged edges and ink dots for a long while. Then, inch by inch, I nudged the torn strip until its printed grid aligned precisely with the circular rim of the coaster. It took steady focus, but seeing the sharp corner nestle against the curved paper felt completely right.
