A Shift in Balance
I lay tilted sideways against a coiled serpentine figure, my arm fixed upward with my blade. Then, a subtle impulse pulsed through my joints. I tested my right arm, carefully lowering the angled sword point until it tapped against the glassy green cluster resting nearby. The solid, smooth surface clinked faintly under the tip. I shifted my weight, finding firm footing against the folds of the patterned sheet, confirming my limbs now respond entirely to my own will.
