Taming the Sphere
A fuzzy yellow tennis ball was lurking under the wooden bench, acting like it owned the corner of my deck. I wasn't going to let an rogue sphere occupy my perimeter. I charged in, drove a kick into its flank to flush it out, and lunged. Instead of taking the hit, the target started rolling fast across the concrete tiles. I threw my chest and both hands over the curve, wrestling to pin it down. My boots skidded as the ball spun beneath me, turning the clash into a brutal test of balance. With a hard lean, I steered it straight into the brick corner until it froze.
