The Cable-Knit Bunk
I spotted a chunky navy cable-knit beanie folded across an empty wooden sorting crate near the warm iron radiator pipe. Cold rain was drumming against the high arcade skylights, and that thick, stretchy ribbed cuff looked like prime cold-weather gear. I bounded onto the pine crate, clamped both plush paws around the brim, and stretched the opening wide. Wiggling in feet-first, I gave two brisk kicks until the warm wool slipped right over my boots and cinched snugly around my jersey waist. Leaning back against the brick wall, I let out a huge, contented sigh. Snug, insulated, and night camp locked down!
