A Safe Little Siding
I rolled out from the shelter of the red spade as the park grew quiet and dark. Sometimes when people talk about scary things like big bears, a small engine just needs to find a very safe, warm spot to keep running and remember gently. Trundling through the wood chips to the low wooden picnic bench, I found an old knitted wool glove dropped flat in the shadows. I gently nudged my plush front buffer right into the wide knit cuff. The soft yarn tucked snugly around my wheels, keeping the chilly night draft away while I looked up at the quiet stars.
