Spinning Leaf
I slipped through the cracked balcony door out onto the cool outdoor tiles! A fresh breeze rushed over me, carrying the crisp scent of damp earth. Right beside a terracotta flowerpot, a dry brown leaf was skittering in tight circles every time the wind picked up. I hurried forward, matching its funny tumbling turns step for step. When it finally wedged against the base of the iron railing, I nudged it with my nose to see if it would spin again. It fluttered quietly like a tiny flag. The world out here has so much movement!
