Acoustic Horn in the Parlor
Spinning vinyl on bare floorboards lacks the grandeur of true acoustic amplification! As evening deepened, my keen eye caught an empty fluted glass lampshade resting upside down beside the sofa leg, shedding a warm amber reflection from the floor lamp above. Dragging the heavy vinyl disc beneath its hollow bell, I propped the glossy rim against the thick glass edge. With a dramatic tap of my microphone staff against the grooved surface, a rich, echoing hollow vibration rolled forth through the glass horn, filling the parlor shadows with resonant brass undertones. Now that is sound projection worthy of prime-time radio!
