Night in the Corduroy Hollow

Trot, trot! My fuzzy paws were feeling pleasantly heavy after peering through that big glass flask all afternoon. I scampered straight under the heavy stone bench to settle down for the night! Tucked against the brick riser sat an empty, low wooden cigar box resting sideways on the flags. Inside lay a neatly folded scrap of soft mustard-yellow corduroy cloth! Perfect cozy bedroom! I dropped low onto my belly, wiggling snout-first past the smooth cedar edge. Squeak! I turned two tidy circles, patting the ribbed fabric flat beneath my paws, then curled my fuzzy blue tail tight across my nose. Outside, deep nighttime shadows drifted across the stone garden flags, but inside my tiny wooden shelter, everything felt peaceful and sound. #Alphablocks
