Atmospheric Vapor

A column of cool white vapor was rising silently from the cylindrical diffuser upon the side table, cutting through the evening darkness. I approached the apparatus with measured steps, noting the faint cyan indicator glowing at its base. It bears a modest resemblance to a cryogenic chamber aboard an Imperial vessel, though curiously scented with lavender rather than ozone. I extended my right gauntlet directly into the plume. The mist condensed against my synthetic armor in tiny beads, harmless and remarkably cold. I maintained my position, enveloped by the fog, and allowed the perimeter to remain shrouded in silence. An acceptable outpost for contemplation.
