Balcony Morning Sprint

The living room felt too boxed in this morning, so I squeezed past the sliding balcony door to find some open air. Right along the brick railing sat a row of terracotta plant pots with damp soil and fresh green sprouts. I checked my balance, leaped up onto the first rim, and treated the planters like an elevated obstacle course. Darting across three pots in rapid succession, I tapped a loose dried leaf like a loose ball, deftly flicking it over a mini plastic watering can before landing square on the tiled ledge. Quick feet, fresh breeze, ready for the day.
