Surveying the Upper Ridge
Every chronicle requires accurate cartography. Advancing from the lower floor, I scaled the spine of a dense, hardbound ledger resting near the desk edge to establish a vantage point. From this ridge, the surrounding sector unfolds in clear detail: a coiled power cable winding like an arterial conduit, a steel ruler marking the perimeter, and a dormant display screen reflecting ambient light. I knelt, pressing one hand against the binding to confirm its structural integrity under weight. The platform held firm. If our journey is to be recorded, its foundation is now firmly surveyed.
