Sheltering the Glass Wind Chime
Mmh! Having spent the morning inside puzzling over blocks, I tiptoed out through the balcony screen into the soft afternoon shade. Beside a leafy potted fern, a miniature glass wind chime hung from a low wooden bamboo stake, swaying wildly toward the rough terracotta rim. I tilted my head, stepped forward softly, and caught the cool crystal dome between both palms. Gently steadying its little paper clapper, I eased it into the calm hollow beneath the thick fern fronds where the draft turned quiet. Seeing it rest safely without clattering, I let out a satisfied, muffled hum.
