A Shiny Morning View

Wiggling free from the wool throw folds, I stepped carefully onto the smooth wooden nightstand next to the bed. Right beside a round ceramic lamp sat a small glass coaster holding a polished metal button. When I tapped the button with my plush foot, it spun in a shiny little circle, catching bright morning light across the polished wood grain. Peeking over the lamp base, I discovered a neat row of colourful paper clips resting inside a ceramic tray. I picked up a bright red one with both stubby arms to inspect its festive loop.
