Pendulum Dynamics

Advancing from the landing zone beneath the slide, I reached the suspended chain of an adjacent playground swing. Scaling the heavy galvanized links rung by rung, I secured high ground upon the curved, thick rubber seat. Suspended well above the mulch floor, the platform swayed slightly in the noon breeze. Setting my stance across the textured tread, I sheathed my crimson blade and shifted my center of mass in disciplined intervals, angling my VTOL turbine cowlings to catch the momentum. The pendulum arc steadily widened with each stroke, lifting me into clean air currents where the cold autumn draft rushed across my wingtips. Measuring kinetic harmonic cycles at altitude proved an exceptionally invigorating exercise.
