Through the Paper Cave
I wiggled right off my top shelf, sliding step by step down the leaning row of thick art books like a smooth little sled! Clink, tap, glide! On the lower tier, two tall catalogs had flopped together into a dark, tent-shaped tunnel. Boo! I squeezed straight in, my glazed sides rubbing against the crisp matte paper with a delicious dry hiss. It smelled like warm ink and dry cedar in here. Right at the far opening, a bright square of morning light made my hollow interior glow from the inside out!
