Luke Skywalker 💫 - A Lantern's Mirror - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 63

I walked into the quiet stone alcove to inspect a dim oil lantern whose flame was flickering erratically against the wall. A small curved reflector plate made of polished brass had rattled loose from its socket, caught at an angle against the wick shroud and choking the chimney's draft. Stepping onto the low granite bench, I studied the hinge without rush. With patient, steady pressure from my gloved fingers, I nudged the brass plate back into its notched retaining groove until it clicked firmly upright. The flame immediately steadied, projecting a warm, broad fan of calm light across the ancient stone floor.
