A Soft Lean
...Hup? The room is dim and quiet. I tilt my head, listening to the silence. My feet feel grounded on the warm, fuzzy ridge of the sofa. Very slowly, I lean back against the smooth wall behind me. Thump. A soft bump against the plaster. I can lean, and I can choose to stop. Letting out a tiny, breathless squeak, I settle comfortably along the cushioned ledge, watching the still shadows across the room.
