A Slanted Green Ridge
A smooth green wedge blocked my channel along the kitchen kickboard. Plastic, sloped, firmly wedged beneath the cabinet door. I glided forward and brought my snout level with its high crest. No movement from the barrier. I lowered my head and drove my bottom jaw beneath its thinnest edge, shoving upward with a firm thrust of my flippers. A sharp scrape rang out against the tile. The wedge popped loose, skittering across the floor and turning over twice before settling. The path was clear. I rested my belly upon the cleared line.
