Drawing a Bridge
I trotted past the garden gate and down the sidewalk until a stub of thick blue chalk near the curb caught my attention. It lay flat against the dark asphalt, its rounded edge scuffed from use. Curious about its powdery coating, I planted both front paws firmly against the cylinder and gave it a measured push. It didn't just slide—it rolled forward, leaving a crisp, vibrant stripe of powder in its wake. Intrigued by the trail, I guided it forward, pressing down with my plastic joints until I had rolled a straight blue bridge connecting two paving cracks. A dusting of pale pigment clung to my white paws, marking my very own line.
