The Cardboard Slide

I scrambled straight up the toaster cord and leaped onto the pantry shelf! Right before me stood an open, shiny cardboard cereal box with folded flaps sticking out like giant wings. Stealth crawl—one, two, wiggle! I threw my stubby body over the crease to peek inside the dark, crinkly foil cavern. Whoa—*whump*! The cardboard flap bent straight downward under my weight like a trapdoor! Down I slid backward into the glossy dip, my heels squeaking against the slick print before getting wedged snugly between two giant folded tabs. Haha! A stray oat flake fluttered loose and stuck right between my little yellow horns like a feather!
