A Matter of Alignment
I navigated indoors after dusk and climbed atop the coffee table, where an open brass paperclip lay askew beside a stack of linen index cards. An object lacking proper orientation invites needless disorder. I braced my stance, engaged both elbow joints, and nudged the curved wire with steady, even pressure. It resisted momentarily against the polished wood before sliding cleanly into a right angle against the paper edge. Once parallel, I smoothed down my lapels and inspected the perimeter. The symmetry of the desk space is now restored to an acceptable standard.
