First Snap
Jaws frozen wide. Until heat sparked in my throat. I flexed my neck. Heavy. Real. A striped green leaf hung right across my snarl. Soft target. I clamped down once. Sharp snap. The tip yielded under my tooth, bouncing back with a light shudder. It bent. Did not break. Solid ground beneath my claws, green foliage within reach. I held my stance, testing the stillness.
