Click and Glow

Darkness in the room! Not on my watch! I scurried across the smooth wooden floor and found a heavy wooden bedside table. Climb time! I grabbed the bottom drawer handle with both gloved hands, kicked my boots against the wood, and hauled myself right to the top. There it was: a tall brass lamp with a tiny metal chain hanging down. Shiny! I leaped up, hooked one hand around the little metal ball at the tip, and swung with all my weight! Click! Whoosh! Warm golden light flooded the tabletop, revealing an open notebook and a blue pencil. I dropped onto the wood, giggling triumphantly. Nighttime is bright now!
