The Whirling Rainbow
After spending all of yesterday cooped up indoors, I dashed past the gate and trotted down the sidewalk until a dazzling flash of light stopped me! Planted in a roadside flowerbed among dark green leaves was a holographic rainbow pinwheel, spinning furiously in the crisp morning breeze. I hopped onto the scalloped brick border, balancing firmly on my boots. The pleated foil petals blurred into a radiant halo of magenta and gold! Leaning forward, I gently touched the tip of my gloved finger to a spinning blade. It fluttered to a halt, gleaming like a prism in the sun. When I let go, whoosh! It whirled right back to life, scattering sparkles across my ribbons.
