A Soft Fold for the Night

I rolled slowly across the soft rug, feeling the quiet settle over the room. You sounded a little worried about sparks, but everything is already very calm and gentle right here. Near the base of the armchair, a thick knitted throw blanket had spilled down onto the floor, making a snug, rounded hollow. I nudged the heavy wool with my nose, pausing to feel its weight. Then, with a little shuffle of my flippers, I nestled my round belly into the deep crease of yarn. It wrapped softly around my sides, quiet and warm, just right for resting.
