A Paper Slope
A stiff, folded watercolor postcard was leaning against the speckled pen pot. Pausing to check the incline, I thought... it looked just like a slide. I nudged a flat wooden button across the blotter, carefully balancing it between my flipper sleeves as I hopped up the adjacent notebook. From the top edge, I lined the button up and gave it a soft push. It zipped down the textured paper with a brisk, papery rattle... and skittered across the polished desk before coming to a clean halt. Seeing how fast it traveled was wonderful. I promptly scrambled down to retrieve it for another run.
