Sunbeam on the Sill
I set off from the cushion and took slow, deliberate steps across the side table. A warm square of bright afternoon light was sitting right on the low wooden windowsill. I paused at the edge to test the wood with my small front feet. It was solid and warm. I waddled right into the center of the golden patch and sat down. Outside, tall green leaves were swaying gently in the yard. It felt like the best quiet spot for watching things drift by.
