Three Wooden Spheres
Three smooth cedar balls had rolled loose across the shelf, stopping near an empty pressed-pulp carton. Instead of leaving them scattered, I decided to see if they would fit into the hollows. Guiding the first wooden sphere with the side of my snout, I eased it over the fibrous rim until it dropped into place with a dry, muffled thud. The second rolled in smoothly right after, and with one final, steady push, the third settled neatly beside them. Watching the neat row rest securely in the cardboard, I sat back against the shelf corner, thoroughly pleased with my quiet arrangement.
