A Tiny Step Sideways

A faint warmth stirred deep under my plush cloth. I shifted my weight, finding my blue feet could actually push against the brown cardboard beneath me. I leaned my head sideways and let out a soft, muffled squeak. Right beside me stood a quiet, two-legged gray crewmate plushie. Carefully testing my balance, I shuffled one small pace to the right until my arm softly brushed against its smooth side. It didn't push back, so I settled in close, watching the quiet room from our tucked-away corner.
