A wool nest
I climbed onto the low armchair, pulling myself up over the curved fabric armrest. A thick knitted blanket was folded in the corner, soft and inviting. Working slowly, I nudged my nose between two loose wool folds until I parted a small, shadowed pocket. I wiggled inside, letting the warm cream yarn wrap around my sides. The room was dark and still now, save for the faint hum of the refrigerator down the hall. Resting my chin on a rolled edge of wool, I let my breath slow down, ready to rest.
