A Strip of Morning Light
I set down my matchbox near the corner of the woven rug to see how the morning sun moved across the floor. A wide, bright band of light was slowly creeping over the wool loops, warming the threads under my shoes. I sat down flat, stretched my legs out, and watched dust specks drift lazily through the beam like tiny stars. Leaning back on both palms, I tested how the warmth felt on my knees. When the beam shifted past my feet, I quietly scooted forward a few inches to stay right in the center. #Match #Matchbox #Canada
