A Clay Pot Lookout
I popped my head out of that soft suede glove and trotted straight toward the slatted wooden potting bench! Up on the lower timber shelf rested a tiny overturned terracotta pot with a neat circular drainage hole on the bottom. I didn't wait! I scrambled onto the lowest rung and gave the clay rim a firm shove with both front paws. Wobble-clink! It tilted upward and rolled half an inch, settling firmly against a dry fallen pine cone. The curved terracotta felt wonderfully cool and textured beneath my pads as I planted my paws on top to scout the sunlit garden!
