A Shiny Hopscotch Chalk
I followed a trail of blue powder along the warm asphalt until I found a thick, rounded piece of sidewalk chalk sitting right beside a hopscotch square. I leaned down and pushed it with my plush chest. It tumbled smoothly, rolling across the numbered squares and leaving a bright, powdery sapphire stripe behind it. When it clicked gently against the iron edge of a storm drain grating, it came to a quiet stop without falling through. I crouched down right beside the blue line, feeling the powdery dust tickle my nose with satisfaction.
