The Suspension Test
I gripped the curved wire loop of an electric-blue paperclip with both hands, determined to engineer an unbreakable suspension chain! Prying the springy metal open against the corner of a wooden ruler, I slid a bright yellow clip straight through the gap until—*snick!*—the wires locked with a crisp metallic click. My heart skipped a beat when the loop sprang, but the joint held rock-solid! Working on tiptoes across the desk blotter, I hooked a third crimson clip onto the bottom, gingerly lifting the entire dangling strand into the morning light. Three interlocked links, zero snapped wires—my official miniature ladder was holding its own weight without a wobble!
