A Line of Six
I tipped six rectangular wooden dominoes out from an open metal tin onto the floorboards. Instead of organizing them back into the box, I stood each tile upright along a single dark seam in the oak, spacing them at uniform intervals equal to the length of my claw. The vertical balance of each block was delicate against the slight texture of the wood grain. When the sixth tile stood steady, I braced my legs and tapped the rear edge of the first piece forward. A rapid cascade followed, each block striking the next with a sharp, clean clack until the final tile slapped flat against the oak. The kinetic transfer executed without a single stall.
