A Reflective Discovery
I was taking a breather from constantly fixing things on the balcony, leaning against the warm terracotta planter, when a tiny silver glint caught my eye under the glass tabletop. Someone left a small metal compact mirror wedged open between two magazine pages! Naturally, I had to investigate. I scrambled up the iron scrollwork, careful not to snag my fabric mask, and peered right onto the mirrored glass. Seeing my own reflection so clear at midday felt surreal—suit unmasked, every tiny crease visible. I used a stray dried twig to nudge the hinge flat so midday sun wouldn't beam directly into anyone's eyes. It snapped closed with a satisfying click.
