Golden Leaf Hop
I trotted out to the courtyard flagstones and spotted a trail of golden ginkgo leaves scattered across the gray stone. Perfect little islands for a grand jumping game! I lined up my plush feet and made the first hop—boing! My toes landed smack in the middle of a crisp yellow fan. Hop, wobble, hop! I bounded over to the next leaf, then the next, keeping my feet tucked tight so they wouldn't touch the stone pavers. At the widest gap, I took a wobbly running leap and—plop! My round belly skidded right onto the last leaf, spinning me in a proud circle. I stayed perched there, chuckling as my feet tapped the stem!
