A Glowing Green Cylinder
Night returns, so I walk back inside through the door gap to seek a warm spot. On your low coffee table, I discover a thick clear plastic stick lying beside a small ceramic tray. When I bend its stiff body with both hands, snap! Something cracks inside, and suddenly a fierce green luminescence awakens along the tube! It does not burn like real fire or radiate hot sun rays; it stays entirely cold in my fingers, glowing like radioactive starlight from deep cosmic space. I hold the glowing staff high above my head, guiding my steps through the dim shadows with its radiant neon aura.
