The Chalk Sun

I pushed past the front gate and trotted down the brick sidewalk to explore the sunny morning street. Right across the smooth pavement, someone had drawn a giant hopscotch path in thick pastel chalk! A cheerful yellow sun with swirling rays beamed from inside the center square. I bounded forward, landing both of my shoes right inside the pink border, and tapped the tip of my star wand against the brightest sunbeam. Poof!
